Airline Chair Letter

April 11, 2008

Dear Fellow Airlines,

The ACPC Board of Directors, Airline Steering Committee as well as the Supplier Committee for the 52nd ACPC Conference would like to invite you to Chicago , Illinois , and the fabulous Chicago Hyatt Regency Hotel.  Our theme this year is “ROARING INTO THE FUTURE”.

Join us at this year’s conference as the aviation community comes together to focus on the opportunities that await us. This is a great time to build partnerships and I hope that not only will your airline attend, but that you will invite your business associates at other carriers.  The ACPC would like to break the record for airlines and supplier participation this year.

It is my pleasure to be working with Tom Wagner of Northwest Aviation Services Group as the Supplier Host Chair for this year’s conference.  A strong group of event coordinators have assembled what promises to be a great four days of both business and social events:

  • The conference begins on Saturday August 23rd, with Conference Registration and two Business Breakout Sessions beginning at 11 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.
  • Be sure to attend the Welcome reception from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.  This years’ musical entertainment is provided by a very unique band called “The Cracked Cabaret” with strolling costumed characters circulating throughout the event.  The Hospitality Suite is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and reopens from 7 p.m. to midnight on Saturday.
  • The Merle Hellerstedt Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Saturday, August 23rd, at the Ruffled Feathers Golf Course from 7 a.m. until noon.

  • On Sunday afternoon August 24th, the Aviation Networking Forum (ANF) will take place from
1 to 6:30 p.m. Once again we will have the AIRLINES REPRESENTATIVES ONLY from
1 to 2:30 p.m. with Suppliers invited to attend from 2:30 p.m. on.  Prior to the start of the ANF,
Airline representatives are invited to enjoy a lunch buffet hosted by the ACPC beginning at noon.

  • Airline attendees are invited to attend a Six Sigma business breakout session on Sunday, August 24th at 9:30 a.m.

  • Our Sunday night “Taste of Chicago Reception” will begin at 7:30 p.m.  Entertainment for the evening is a great “Blue Brothers Band”.   The dress code for this event is casual.  Food stations will represent the diverse neighborhoods of Chicago and include Greek, Italian, Chinese and Polish cuisines.
  • Our Spouse/Guest program will get underway on Monday August 25th.  A very special day is planned on the Chicago Riverwalk that will include an international brunch cooking demonstration with executive chef Christian Fantoni at the Bice Restaurant.  Following lunch there will be a 90-minute architectural river cruise on the Innisfree Cruise Ship.  More information can be obtained online at our website or from Marlene Holman at marlene@acas.aero. The tour is limited to 60 guests.
  • Monday August 25th, business functions will include the Keynote address, Round Table sessions, Breakout sessions where you can earn certification for your participation, and a business Luncheon with guest speaker John Assaraf, one of the Marshall Goldsmith School of Management’s Distinguished Thought Leaders.
  • The Monday night themed reception is the “Roaring 20’s” featuring the great sounds of the “Sway Chicago Band” beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Be sure to wear your dancing shoes as we will have three professional dance couples on site to perform and instruct attendees.  The dress code for this event is casual.
  • Our final day is Tuesday August 26th and will begin with the Closed Supplier and Closed Airline meetings followed by a combined Supplier & Airline meeting.  Round Table Sessions will be held in the morning and afternoon concluding at 4:30 p.m.

  • Tuesday’s business lunch will include nationally renowned speaker and accomplished author, Jack Daly who will share his proven formula for success.

  • Our “End of an Era” Final Banquet beginning at 7 p.m. will feature the hilarious comedian Frank Caliende, a familiar face on the Late Show, Fox NFL pregame show and his own show, FrankTV.  Dress code for this event is semi-formal.
  • The Hospitality Suite will be open Saturday through Tuesday and is a great place to network with both airline and supplier representatives alike in a relaxed, comfortable environment. Enjoy music, television, and some other surprises!   Please check the Social agenda for the Hospitality hours.
